Nurse Practitioner

Kara Jones, ARNP, FNP-C

Kara Jones, FNP-C is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and U.S. Army Veteran with more than 15 years of nursing experience. After high school, Kara joined the army and became a 3rd generation female soldier, after her mother, who was an Air Defense Officer, and grandmother, who served as an Army Corps Nurse in WWII. She began her nursing career in 2004, when she graduated from Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences as a Registered Nurse. Kara also received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2012, and received her Master of Science in Nursing from South University in 2017. She spent most of her career working in emergency medicine and as a Critical Care Flight Nurse, completing more than 816 flights before she retired in 2019.

PASSIONS AND HOBBIES

Kara is a total foodie, so much so that she has planned past vacations around really great food! She loves spending her free time with her husband, who is a firefighter, whenever their schedules allow it. They have two rescued fur babies at home, one who joined their family all the way from Iraq!

FUN FACT

Kara is passionate about lending her expertise to distaster relief and crisis work whenever the need arises. Most recently, Kara traveled to NYC and spent 40 days treating critically ill patients during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
